Welcome all to this event being co-hosted by SSDP UNSW, UNSW NeuroSoc and the Australian Psychedelic Society.
This event will consist of a series of short lectures by academics presenting their research on topics related to psychoactive substances. We hope you can join us to hear about the interesting research being presented on substances that are normally quite stigmatised.
Please register for FREE tickets if you are UNSW students/alumni or pay 10 dollars on the door on the night of the event for anyone else.
Central Lecture Block is located at grid reference E19 on the UNSW Kensington Campus. It is near the UNSW main library on Upper Campus, right next to Boost Juice and Subway.
SPEAKERS
Tomas Frymann
PhD candidate, Columbia University
Tomas Frymann is a second-year doctoral candidate in the clinical psychology program at Teachers College, Columbia University. Tomas will be presenting on his development of a psychological scale to measure “Interbeing”, a concept he will explore in his presentation, in the hope to supplement efforts to better understand how identity shifts factor into both the potential benefits and costs of psychedelic experiences.
Dr Vince Polito
Research Fellow, Macquarie Univeristy
Dr Vince Polito is a research fellow at Macquarie University. His research has previously focused on developing better measures of self representation and investigating how this capacity is altered in different contexts, clinical conditions and states of consciousness. However, at this seminar, Vince will be talking about his recently published observational study on the effects of microdosing psychedelics.
